A blue plaque commemorating Dr Ruth Bensusan-Butt1877-1957, was unveiled on Sunday 5th June. The plaque was erected by Colchester Civic Society near to the front door of the Minories, where Dr Ruth lived and worked from 1915 to 1957. Twenty eight members of the Society gathered at the Siege House on Saturday 16th January for a New Year Lunch. Many had not been to the restaurant for some years and were amazed by it’s transformation. The food was delicious and conversation, as usual, flowed. It was a very pleasant occasion.
