Interpretation Board installed at St Botolph’s Priory

NEW INTERPRETATION BOARD AT ST. BOTOLPH’S  PRIORY
This new board was unveiled today following a joint project between Colchester Civic Society, Colchester and Ipswich Museum Service and Colchester Borough Council. This is the first of two projects intended to raise knowledge and interest in the Priory and its grounds.

The  Interpretation Board explains the significance of three of the most notable residents buried here and where their graves are placed. The second stage will involve restoration work on these  graves.
The Civic Society would like to thank Phillip Wise from the Museum Service and Robert Mercer from Colchester Civic Society for their work on this. Thanks also to The Hervey Benham Trust for providing the funding.
Thanks also to Adrian Rushton for the unveiling photo.
